For Vampire Survivors players, this guide will show you the strategies I use, since I do not play on Mad Forest, take whatever I say about that place with a few hundred grains of salt
Personally, I think this evolution is underrated. It isn’t as good at aoe damage, (yes I know that is a huge part of the game) but santa water can pick up the slack on that end, and if you have kings bible or the evolved version you are pretty good either way.
WHIP ++ HOLLOW HEART (max hp upgrade, +10 % per level) == BLOODY TEAR
Honestly, a horrible evolution. The healing is good, I think around 8 hp per hit. HOWEVER, hollow heart is a horrible passive item, and the extra projectiles from the whip is removed, giving you a maximum of 4 projectiles with duplicator lvl 2 and with the extra projectiles upgrade.
WAND ++ EMPTY TOME (cooldown reduction, -8% each level) == HOLY WAND
Actually a really good upgrade, especially because empty tome is one of the best passives in the game, so you should really get this. Basically, this turns the wand into a fully functioning minigun with no cooldown. Very powerful.
KNIVES ++ GAUNTLET (projectile speed upgrade, +10% per level) == THOUSAND EDGE
Good damage, however, I just can’t help but think of this as a worse holy wand. The gauntlet is a pretty good passive item, but not as good as the empty tome, and the knife is basically just the magic wand but you have to aim it. And it might do a different amount of damage. Honestly a pretty bad evolution, does the same as the holy wand. (no cooldown)
HOLY BIBLE ++ SPELLBINDER (duration upgrade, +10% per level) == UNHOLY VESPERS
Ok. Now it is time for the most powerful weapon in the game: The holy bible. It doesn’t need the evolution. The evolution makes it so that there is more space between you and the bibles, the bibles turn into flames, the flames do more damage, and the flames never run out. Which is irrelevant because if you have maxed holy bible, maxed empty tome, and max duration/cooldown power up, it is up all the time anyway.
FIRE WAND ++ SPINACH (damage upgrade, +10% per level) == HELLFIRE
Very powerful. It does around 100 damage and spinach is really good. It pierces through all enemies, and with the aoe upgrade (candelabrador) it can have a huge area with a lot of damage. I highly recommend this evolution, it can do an insane amount of damage.
AXE ++ CANDELABRADOR (area upgrade, +10% per level) == DEATH SPIRAL
An amazing evolution that makes axe really good. It makes the axes into scythes that originate from the player before circling out, piercing through all enemies and doing massive damage. (not the same as king bible, sorry I am not better at explaining that mechanic…)
UPGRADE 1. WHIP:
Starts with 5-14 damage with no upgrades, large area, pierces through enemies.
UPGRADE 2: Fires 1 more projectile.
Fires another projectile behind you if you have no other projectile bonuses. A really good upgrade.
UPGRADE 3: Base damage up by 5.
Simple and amazing. Up to 10-20 damage somehow.
UPGRADE 4: Base damage up by 5, area up by 10%.
Really powerful upgrade, honestly amazing. Up to 15-25 damage.
UPGRADE 5: Base damage up by 5.
Still simple and good. Damage up to 20-29 damage.
UPGRADE 6: Base damage up by 5, base area up by 10%
Really powerful upgrade, honestly amazing. Up to 26-34 damage. Damage in red.
UPGRADE 7: Base damage up by 5.
Simple, good. Up to 30-40 damage.
UPGRADE 8: Base damage up by 5.
Again, simple, good. Up to 35-45 damage.
Crits up to 85, orange damage.
Normal damage is still 35-45 damage.
REMOVES a projectile, so you only have one if you have no extra projectiles.
Heals for 8 health every 3 ATTACKS. Not hits, attacks.UPGRADE 1. CROSS:
Basic cross. Boomerang effect, 0-10 damage on the wooden enemies in the library, still kills even on 0 damage.
UPGRADE 2. Base damage up by 10. Damage up to 10-20.
UPGRADE 3. Speed up by 25%, area up by 10%
UPGRADE 4. Fires 1 more projectile, total up to 2.
UPGRADE 5. Base damage up by 10, total of 20-30 damage.
Speed up by 25%, area up by 10%.
UPGRADE 7. Fires one more projectile, total of 3.
Really good, and simple.
UPGRADE 8. Base damage up by 10, total of 30-40 damage.
Amazing, really increases the damage of the cross to late-game levels.
Speed up: 50%
Area up: 20%
Crit damage: 174-196
Projectiles: 2UPGRADE 1. GARLIC Small area around the character, 0-10 damage.
Good early game, terrible late game.
UPGRADE 2: Area up 40%, damage up 2, total of 2-12.
UPGRADE 3. Cooldown reduced by 0.1 seconds, damage increased by 1, total of 3-13.
UPGRADE 4. Area up 20%, damage up 1. Total damage 4-14, total area 60%.
UPGRADE 5. Cooldown reduced by 0.1 seconds, damage increased by 1, total damage 5-15, cooldown 0.2 second reduction.
UPGRADE 6. Area up 20%, damage up 2. Total damage 6-16, total area 80%.
UPGRADE 7. Cooldown reduced 0.1 seconds, damage up 1. Total damage 7-17, total cooldown reduction 0.3 seconds.
UPGRADE 8. Area up 20%, damage up 2. Total damage 8-18, area up 100%.
Cooldown Reduction: 0.3 seconds.
THOUGHTS: Horrible item late game, INSANE early game.
